Day 7--Wandering, Stephen's Church, Julius Meinl, Demonstration, and Art

Today was our last day in Vienna.  We spent a lot of time wandering the city.  We started at St. Stephen's Cathedral--quite impressive.  Our first church visit on the trip.

We then stopped for coffee at Cafe Central--another traditional coffee house with a long history.  We love sitting in cafes for long periods of time.  I can imagine doing it all day.

Well, we kind of did sit in cafes all day.  From Cafe Central we went to Julius Meinl,  They have a great cafe, but even better is the market that's attached to the cafe.  It's got a number of different floors with fabulous food.

When we left Julius Meinl, there were tons of Polizai everywhere.  There was a pro-Palestinian demonstration.  It was interesting how the police led the demonstration and were on each side to keep it peaceful.  Notice the stores in the background.

The highlight of the day was a trip to MUMOK--the museum of modern art.  There was an amazing pop art show that a guy named Ludwig collected.  I've never seen so many works in one place from Warhol, Lichtenstein, Johns. Rauschenberg, Hockney, Indiana, etc.

Great day in Vienna.
